We aim for the children to develop knowledge, skill and understanding, so that they can perform with increasing competence and confidence in a range of physical activities.
Through Physical Education, the children will learn to think, select and apply skills and promote positive attitudes towards a healthy lifestyle.
This will be achieved through one lesson of outdoor PE and one hour of indoor PE every week. Children are taught a varied curriculum with activities including: gymnastics, dance, games and athletics.
We encourage children and staff to have active and healthy lifestyles through inspiring discussions, exploring sporting values and using real life examples. We intend for the children to continue this positive relationship with sport, diet and exercise into their adult life. Everyone at Eastergate CE Primary School participates in the Daily Mile at some point during the school day, making the most of the great outdoors and our school grounds.
Children have the opportunity to join a range of sports activities before or after school, such as dodgeball, running club, karate and football training.
